BACK TO FACTORY PARTY

READ VERY CAREFULLY!!!!
SUBSMISSION DEADLINE: FRIDAYS FEBRUARY 20TH 2010 11PM

In celebration of what will be the last installment of the Factory Party event series, we will be opening submissions up earlier than usual, with some special requirements this time, for any artists or collaborators that wish to be a part.

PROPOSAL GUIDELINES (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!):

We are accepting proposals for large, Pop Art/Factory Party themed SUCLPTURES or non-damaging WALL INSTALLATIONS, FILMS, or PERFORMANCES.

The proposal may be site specific (The Uptown Stage & Screen) but is not necessary. Large means it must be freestanding, or on a platform that artist provides, and a MINIMUM or 3 feet x 3 feet in width. The larger it is the better, although the piece must be able to be brought in pieces, whole or assembled on site in less than FIVE hours, the day of the event, or in special cases the day before. The piece should have no wet paint for the duration of the evening, or anything that may stain or permanently damage the flooring materials or walls. We encourage pieces to be interactive, and otherwise just awesome...

Wall based art must be able to be hung with adhesives that do not destroy the wall. Nails or screws MAY be accepted in some cases if it is absolutely vital.

-No previously shown pieces may be submitted unless the fit the theme perfectly.
-Original PROPOSALS or completed projects that meet these guidelines only.
-Must be able to dismantle the day after the party and dispose of, or take away. In some ways we encourage artists to make their pieces out of semi disposable materials (not smelly garbage) as the events draws large crowds, and things may get bumped from time to time, nothing too delicate!
-be creative, and think outside the box!
-Submissions for single paintings, drawings or photos will not be accepted, ONLY LARGE SCALE INSTALLATIONS...so think big!
-A ROUGH SKETCH OR DIAGRAM MUST ACCOMPANY A DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF YOUR PROPOSAL. Proposals without will be ignored. it doesn't have to be a work of art, just a rough sketch of your plan.
-PERFORMANCES & FILMS must be viewable online, no physical copies or DVDs are accepted. Performances should show an example or have a detailed description or diagram of your ideas.
-SUBMISSIONS MUST INCLUDE YOUR FULL NAME & PHONE NUMBER IN CASE WE HAVE QUESTIONS.
